The European health report 2012: charting the way to well-being

I'm glad to have contributed to the WHO European Health Report 2012, which has a particular focus on well-being.  Drawing on the work of the WHO expert group on measuring and target-setting for well-being which I'm supporting, we included a graphic and explanation on the two-way relationship between health and well-being.  The key message is that not only does health contribute to well-being (which it does, and strongly), but that current well-being also contributes to future health.  Hopefully in the long term this will help to support efforts taking well-being as a focus for activity not just in the area of health, but across government.
